Tortilla Making (Experimental Recipe)
A proper tortilla recipe, simply because I love cooking as much as I love programming and making things!!
Ingredients (6–8 tortillas)
- All-purpose flour: 250g (≈ 2 cups)
- Salt: ½ teaspoon
- Baking powder (optional): ½ teaspoon
- Vegetable oil or melted butter: 2 tablespoons
- Warm water: 180ml (¾ cup)
Steps
- Combine flour, salt, and baking powder (if using) in a large bowl.
- Add oil or melted butter and mix until crumbly.
- Gradually add warm water while stirring until a dough forms.
- Knead on a floured surface for 3–5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Cover dough with a damp cloth and rest for 20–30 minutes.
- Divide dough into 6–8 balls and roll each to 1–2 mm thickness.
- Heat a dry skillet over medium heat and cook each tortilla 1–2 minutes per side until lightly browned.
- Stack tortillas in a clean kitchen towel to keep warm and soft.
- Serve and enjoy!
