Tortilla Making (Experimental Recipe)

A proper tortilla recipe, simply because I love cooking as much as I love programming and making things!!

Ingredients (6–8 tortillas)
  • All-purpose flour: 250g (≈ 2 cups)
  • Salt: ½ teaspoon
  • Baking powder (optional): ½ teaspoon
  • Vegetable oil or melted butter: 2 tablespoons
  • Warm water: 180ml (¾ cup)
Steps
  1. Combine flour, salt, and baking powder (if using) in a large bowl.
  2. Add oil or melted butter and mix until crumbly.
  3. Gradually add warm water while stirring until a dough forms.
  4. Knead on a floured surface for 3–5 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  5. Cover dough with a damp cloth and rest for 20–30 minutes.
  6. Divide dough into 6–8 balls and roll each to 1–2 mm thickness.
  7. Heat a dry skillet over medium heat and cook each tortilla 1–2 minutes per side until lightly browned.
  8. Stack tortillas in a clean kitchen towel to keep warm and soft.
  9. Serve and enjoy!
